Nicholas Wanderers V Fry
Club Junior U10’s
Sunday 2nd October 2005 at Dundridge Farm Playing Fields.
1st Match
A rousing start for both sides with action at either
end of the pitch straight from the kick off. A neatly taken corner by Perry May was slotted
home with a half volley by Charlie Goodwin to give Frys the lead. The home side reacted promptly to put the
visitors under pressure only to be thwarted by defender John Shorland (man of the match) and
keeper Jovi Belcher. After a brilliant first touch in
the middle of the park Mickey Parsons fed a through ball to Striker Ben Clapp
who coolly netted the second for Frys.
The second half saw Wanderers throwing all
they had at the visitors and it paid off when the Frys keeper made an excellent
stop only to spill the ball for a tap in for Liam Platts.
With no answer to the pressure from Wanderers, Fry Club could only watch as
Luca Porcaro shot from distance leaving their keeper
with little chance of saving. Final score 2-2.
2nd Match
With
Fry Club now facing what looked like a bigger and more physical side the
visitors started with a clinical header for Corey Reid (man of the match) from a
corner. With hard
battles being fought in midfield the first half finished 1-0 to Fry Club.
The second half saw the visitors doing all the
attacking and after winning a corner Ben Harper put Fry Club 2 up with a hard
hit low shot beating the Wanderers keeper at the near post. With most of the
play in the home sides half Harper took another corner that was headed in with
a desperate lunge at the ball from midfielder Nathan Munford. Nicholas
Wanderers had no answer to this and the game finished Fry Club 3-Nicholas
Wanders 0.
Joint score: Fry Club 5-
Nicholas Wanders 2
